Robin Hood and Maid Marian

4: Your favourite hero: Robin Hood.
Honestly, I don’t see what isn’t to love about Robin Hood. He’s a wonderful character, he’s great with children, he loves Maid Marian dearly and he saves the people he loves the most. He risks his life to better the lives of others, and I think that’s a wonderful thing for anyone to do.

Walkin’ through the forest
Laughin’ back and forth
At what the other’ne has to say
Reminiscin’, This-‘n’-thattin’
Havin’ such a good time

“I’m sure you will be wonderful! Let’s find a good spot to practice then, shall we?” Robin asked her, offering her his arm. He walked with her to the spot in Sherwood Forest where he and Little John camped every night. Next to a tree Robin had put his spare bow, in case he should have a need for it. He snatched it up and walked with Marian a good ways away from the campsite. Taking out a knife he had stowed on his belt, he carved a target into a nearby tree. “Let’s try this target for practice,” he said. He nocked an arrow into his own bow string, and let it fly into the dead center of the target. “Alright, why don’t you try now?”
“Of course, Darling, I would love to teach you! Shall we get started then? I believe I have a spare bow at my camp in the forest!” Robin could never say “no” to Marian, especially after feeling her fingers ever so gently grace his cheek. She was certainly an amazing lady.
Things I love about Disney’s version of Robin Hood: just about everything. This movie is just as much fun as I remember it. Who cares about the “real” Robin Hood? He’s a fox, accuracy goes out the window. Ignoring all of the source material (as you should in this case), this movie is a lot of fun. A lot of the films I’ve watched during this project, I frequently paused and came back to later, or found things to do while the movie was on. This one took me two or three days to watch, but it was because more important things came up, not because I needed a break. Every time I expected to have time to finish it, I was excited to hit the play button. And that’s just what Disney does best!
